UPYA Mourns Amb. Jorek Orekereke Udusan Joseph

Urhobo Progress Youth Association, UPYA has mourned the sudden demise of Amb. Chief Dr. Udusan Joseph Orekereke, the Lordmayor of Urhobowood International.


UPYA in a statement signed by its President General worldwide, Prince Oghenetejiri Ogegere described the death of Jorek as he popularly known as devastating.


According to Ogegere, “Your death came to us in UPYA with a rude shock! We were actually making plans to reach out vis a vis fundraising when we saw the post on Rufus Ibebe’s wall about 3 days ago that you were seriously ill with a strange ailment.

“The plan was to send a delegate to check up on you tomorrow to ascertain the state of affairs unknowingly to us that tomorrow was never going to come.

“It is painfully painful that you had to leave this very early at a time such as this where your presence is strongly needed to keep hope alive for our people.

“We are however consoled by the fact that you enshrined your name in the sands of time by your immeasurable impact and footprint in Urhobo land and beyond via your Urhobowood vision.

“You were always present at UPYA events whether invited or not. You were one of UPYA’s greatest fans.

“In the words of Martin Luther King Jr, “the ultimate life is not measured by duration but by donation”.

“Dear Amb. Jorek Udusan Joseph Orekereke Urhobo and the world is proud of your impacts, may your soul rest in peace in bosom of the Almighty God.


“The pain of losing a loved one is truly excruciating! We pray God to give your immediate and extended family the fortitude to stay through moment of grief!

Urhobo will forever miss you General.
