Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, describing his passing as a monumental loss to Delta State and Nigeria.
Dafinone, in a condolence message issued following Uduaghan’s death on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the age of 71, said the former governor would be remembered for his contributions to the development of Delta State and his commitment to public service.
The senator noted that Uduaghan’s years in public office, including his service as Commissioner for Health, Secretary to the State Government and two-term governor, demonstrated his dedication to governance and the advancement of the state.
According to him, the late former governor distinguished himself as a statesman whose contributions to Delta State’s political and developmental landscape would remain indelible.
Dafinone also extolled Uduaghan’s leadership style, particularly his efforts to promote unity, peaceful coexistence and inclusiveness among the diverse ethnic groups in the state.
