Students, Community Youths Rescue Kidnap Secondary School Teacher In Delta

Students of Oviri-Ogor secondary school, and youths from Oviri-Ogor community in Ughelli North local government area of Delta, on Wednesday rescue a kidnapped female teacher from her abductors.
The teacher name withheld was abducted by her kidnappers at the school premises when she had resumed school for the afternoon session.
It would be recalled that last Sunday, an inspector of police, Nimmgel Nwangwang on escort was shot dead at by suspected gunmen and his AK-47 rifle with no:5622630746 with 30 rounds of ammunition was taken away.
According to sources from the school, “The female teacher, who teaches SS1& 2 Geography was coming down from her car to resume for the afternoon session when she was accosted and bundled into her car at about 12:noon.
“When we saw the two men, we initially thought that they were parents who had come to enroll their wards for the ongoing JSS 3 examination enrollment. We never knew that they were kidnappers.

“The students had to raised alarm which attracted youths of the community and after a hot chase, they abandoned the teacher few kilometers away from the school premises.
“Her Toyota Camry rear windscreen was destroyed and recoverd but her bag containing mobile phones and other items was taken away by the kidnappers.
The principal of the school had to call for security agents but before their arrival from Ughelli ‘A’ division, the geography teacher has been rescued by the students and community youths.
