Health Educators Elects New Executive In Delta State

The Nigeria Association of Health Educators, Delta state chapter has elected a 9-man executive members to pilot the affairs of the body for the next three years.
Those elected are, Okorakpa Gloria as chairman, Ovadje Joseph as vice chairman,  Okore Theophilus  as Secretary, Ossai Charity Assistant secretary, Madusha Daniel Treasurer.
Others includes, Ekokwum Chinedu as Fin. Sec, Aigbekaen Peace as PRO, while Amudo Bridget and Erumi Selly as Welfare Officer and Internal Auditor respectively.
In his speech the electoral committee chairman, Fidelis Ulakpa said, “We have been on the process for the past two months and we are glad that all contestants are happy over what we are doing.
Also speaking, the Assistant Electoral Officer from the Independent Electoral Commission in Ughelli North, Mrs. Osuigwe Augustina who expressed satisfaction over the conduct said,  “The purpose of every election is to practice internal democracy and we are very sure that electoral body is ready to conduct the best election for the state Health Educators.

“Those of you contesting today are brothers and sisters and there should be no need for do or die, cast your vote for the candidates of your choice. We are here to observe the process with keen interest to further strengthen and tighten up our Internal democracy.
Speaking after their inauguration, the state chairperson, Okorakpa Gloria said, “As a health educators, we are the onions at the grassroots to see that we prevent diseases from spreading and that is why we are into preventive medicine.
“Our members must come together and fight one cause to be successful health educators to prevent the spread of communicable and non-communicable diseases at the grassroots level.
“Though it is difficult to change the behavior of the general public, but we have the skills to see that we impact them behavioral change and the ability to change their attitudes towards communicable and non-communicable diseases.
“As the state chairperson of the Delta State chapter of Health educators, we shall run the government of inclusiveness and be opened to constructive criticism to shape the association to the next level.
We must leave behind whatever that will bring in division among us because this new administration will stand to bring in all the aggrieved members so that we can forge ahead”.
The election was conducted and supervised staff of Independent Electoral Commission staff led the Assistant Electoral Officer, Mrs Osuigwe Augustina.
Highlights of the event was oath of office that was administered on them by the state chairman of Delta State Medical Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Comrade Anthony Prezi who was represented by the state PRO, Chief Imoni Edward Onyagbodor.
