Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun John Obukohwo Nani, has called Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, Vice Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, an epitome of humility, with a lasting impact as he marks his 50th birthday.
Olorogun Nani in his congratulatory message described Tonlagha as one of the Niger Delta’s most respected civil engineers, entrepreneurs and leaders in the oil and gas servicing sector, whose work has gone far beyond corporate success
According to him, “Tonlagha’s leadership at Tantita Security Services, which has strengthened protection of critical oil pipeline facilities in the Niger Delta, reduced vandalism, and contributed to the stability of national revenue.
“Your influence combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of the region’s social realities, an approach that ensures sustainable peace and development in oil-producing communities.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Nani described Tonlagha’s quiet but consistent commitment to philanthropy and community service, particularly in youth empowerment and grassroots initiatives that rarely seek public attention.
“Engr. Tonlagha’s strength lies not just in what he does, but in how he does it—with humility, restraint and respect for people,” Nani said, emphasising that such leadership is increasingly rare.
He described Matthew Tonlagha as a positive symbol of Niger Delta enterprise, resilient, service-driven and focused on long-term impact, and wished him continued success in contributing to the region’s growth, security, and prosperity.
