Insecurity :  NYCN charges FG, DTSG, Security Agencies On Safety

ISSELE- AZAGBA- Reactions has continue to trailed the recent Kidnappings saga at Issele-Azagba Mixed Secondary School in Aniocha North Local government Area of Delta State where the school Principal and one persons were confirm dead and and others kidnap.

Delta State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria ( NYCN), Comrade Kenneth Okorie has called on the Federal and State Governments and Security Agencies to rise up to the challenges of ensuring the safety of citizens.

Speaking to Politics Governance  reporter at Issele -Azagba in Aniocha North, Comrade Okorie Spoke frowned at the ugly trend of the criminal activities and onslaught carried out by suspected Fulani Herdsmen at Issele-Azagba school town, agrarian Community sharing boundry with Asaba, Delta State Capital Territory.

According to him, “The killing and maiming of innocent citizens by some unpatriotic herders needed urgent attention from government at all levels and security operatives as it has made life unbearable for the citizens, according to him the urgent attention will create room to avoid further breakdown of law and order.

The number one Youth Leader in the State said his visit to the town gave him a graphic account of all that transpired pointing out that there was urgent need for special police squad to be drafted to the town to comb the nearby forests where the hoodlums ran into for cover before they carry out another attack on the peaceful town.

Speaking further on the ugly development, the Youth leader said the situation has crippled commercial and farming activities as indigenes now sleep in churches while farmers have abandoned their farms as a result of uncertainty.

Comrade Okorie, added that pupils and students no longer go to school because of fear of possible attack from the suspected herdsmen who on the said day shot sporadically into the school and carried out their nefarious act before the quick intervention of the Vigilante groups led to the release of those already kidnapped.

He then advised communities to partner security agencies to ward off hoodlums from carrying out their evil intention while reminding federal government of the need to declare this unscrupulous men making life unsafe for Nigerians a terrorist group.

He commended the Vigilante group in Issele Azagba for their gallantry action that brought the situation under control emphasizing that more drastic action was needed from the Federal government in the security of the nation.

Comrade Okorie therefore tasked youths in various towns in Delta State to as a matter of urgency champion peace and not be harbingers of violence and acrimony.
