Onowakpo Denies Stepping Down From House of Rep Race In Isoko

By Awodeha Gabriel,

House of Representative candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC ) for Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Joel Onowakpo has dispel rumours making the rounds on social media that he has stepped down the race for House Miniority Leader, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

He insisted that victory for him and his party was just a few weeks away, adding that no amount of propaganda will distract him from giving up his vision to rescue the Isoko people from years of setbacks through quality representation.

Recalled that Onowakpo was reported to have travelled during the festive period when  majority of his supporters were expecting the usual Christmas package politicians used to spin votes from electorates. A development which prompted fresh campaign on social media that he has stepped down from the race.

However, the House of Representative hopeful showed up first, at the APC presidential rally in Warri, followed by an intense campaign in Isoko North and South during which he visited the monarch and members of traditional ruling council of Iyede Kingdom.

At Iyede Onowakpo was prayed for by the Royal Father and  endorsed by the Iyede traditional ruling council as well as Iyede youths.

Speaking on behalf of the King, Chief John Asaboro, said, “you are the first and only candidate that has visited us since campaign started which has showed that you respected and has value for our people. We are not wicked people that you will give food and we will reciprocate with sand. I can assure you we know what to do and you will be happy at the end.”

Meanwhile, just when Onowakpo is returning to town and is foot marching across the length and breath of Isoko North and South, his major opponent, PDP’s Leo Ogor has reportedly jets out of the country for medical check up.
