Killed Ughere Buried Amidst Tears In Evwreni Community

A killed Police Constabulary attached Juvenile Women’s Children unit, JWC,  at the Ughelli Area Command, simply identified as Solomon Ughere has been laid to rest amidst uncontrollable tears at Evwreni community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Late Mr Solomon Ughere 42, was stabbed to death, by a suspected armed robber at Evwreni community, while in operation to retrieving a suspected stolen vehicle from the community in December 2023.
The deceased police constabulary attached to JWC office at Ughelli Area Command, was detailed among other officers to recover a suspected stolen vehicle parked at the premises of Living Faith Church located at Evwreni community.
According to security source, “A complainant, identified as Mr Lucky Aki, a senior member of the church was sent to incident the case of the suspected stolen car parked at the church premises at the Ughelli Area command.
“After the issue was reported, some police officers were detailed to retrieve the car from the church premises and when they got to scene, they saw the suspect whose identity could not be ascertained standing by the vehicle.
“The suspect, on sighting the security agents took to his heel and he was chased to a nearby bush were he was caught and while he was struggling with the police, stabbed Mr. Solomon Ughere, who died moments later.
“As that was not enough, he also stabbed the complainant, Mr Lucky Aki,55, that held him before fleeing into a nearby swampy forest.
“While Mr Solomon Ughere died before getting to the hospital, Mr Lucky died after arriving at the Ughelli Central Hospital due to the degree of injury sustained.
“The suspect was arrested few hours later by community youths  and when they got to his house, two suspected kidnapped victims were set free before he was beaten to stupor and set ablaze.”
The deceased, a father of five was buried at the weekend while the complainant, Mr Lucky Aki was laid to rest about two weeks ago.
