Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of work at the ongoing construction of the Model Technical College in Irri, , warning contractors that the state government will not compromise on standards in the execution of public projects.
The governor voiced his concerns on Monday during an inspection tour of the project, where he assessed the pace and quality of construction. He stressed that every government project must meet approved specifications and deliver value for public funds.
Oborevwori noted that his administration remains committed to ensuring that contractors adhere strictly to contractual obligations, adding that projects found to be below the required standard would not be accepted.
Following the inspection at Irri, the governor proceeded to inspect the ongoing construction of the Ozoro Modern Market and the College of Health at Ovrode, both in .
He explained that the inspections form part of the state’s monitoring mechanism aimed at ensuring all ongoing projects are completed to the highest quality and are ready for commissioning.
The governor reiterated that his administration would continue to closely supervise projects across the state to guarantee quality delivery and ensure that Deltans receive durable infrastructure that meets their expectations.
