Gov El Rufai Appoints Deltan As Special Adviser

Kaduna State governor, Mallam El El-Rufai has appointed, Dr. Omono Edigheji  a Deltan as Special Adviser on Research and Documentation.


Until his appointment,Dr. Omono Edigheji who hails from Isoko North Local government of Delta State was a South Africa based.

His appointment make it the third person to be appointed by the APC led government in the country following the nomination of Dr. Dr Sam Egube from the Urhobo extraction by Lagos State governor Sanwo-Olu as commissioner designate, and Mrs. Alero Oritseneye who is a Personal Aide to Gombe State Governor on domestic affairs.


According to Orovwigho Kumeh, Researcher/Analyst, “Una for my Delta state wey no want make deputy senate prez or governor appoint anybody wey no be from our state or even from our state but from another area, see who we know as bigot dey appoint Isoko man for Kaduna. Make we open our minds small for this country sha”.

“An Isoko cum Urhobo who has been residing in the Republic of South Africa Mr. Omono Edigheji PHD was among the individuals who was sworn in on Friday 19th July 2019 by his Excellency, Governor Nasir El Rufai, the executive governor of Kaduna State as a Special Adviser at the Kaduna State Government House.


“Mr Omono Edigheji PHD who was sworn in as the Special Adviser, Research and Documentation, Kaduna state hails from Isoko North Local government area of Delta state.

“He holds a Doctorate degree in Political Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.


“Dr Edigheji is a prolific scholar with a versed knowledge in political philosophy, diplomatic soldiering and conflict management was until his appointment a university doyen based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

“Dr Omono Edigheji is renowned for his strict stands against Corruption, and has many academic works to his name including a popular one which gained him national filip in Nigeria, when he did a critique of the book of former Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan known as “My Transition hours” describing the book as Sentimental, emotional, irrational and failing to address the sufferings of Nigeria.

“The Scholar, Dr Edigheji had earlier in this year released an article titled “Nigeria-Petrol price increase and the poverty of the proposed strikes by trade unions. An article that sought to provide pragmatic solution to the petroleum question in Nigeria and ensure denouement to the crisis by oil marketers and the federal government.

“Dr. Omono Edigheji is a seasoned scholar and a complete research doyen and is genuinely suitable for his role as a Special Adviser (SA), Research and Documentation to the governor of Nigeria’s second most populated state as He will be in  charge of all research, planning and correspondences in the state.

“He is the third Deltan to be appointed by All Progressive Congress (APC) state governments in Nigeria with Dr Sam Egube nominated as a commissioner in Lagos State and Mrs Alero Oritseneye already been part of the domestic circle in Gombe State as she is a personal aide on the governor on domestic affair having worked for more than a decade with Governor Inuwa Yahaya as his personal cook”.
