Foundation Presents Learning Materials To Primary School Pupils In Ughelli

Learning materials worth thousands of naira were presented to the pupils of Uduere primary school, Uduere in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state by a non profitable Governmental organization, ‘Connect 2 Hope foundation’ as part of its efforts to promote quality basic education in the society.
The learning items distributed include, English language and Mathematics textbooks, exercise books, writing materials, pencils, erasers, pencil cases and school bags.
It was gathered that a borehole was drilled, a power generating set, electrical ceiling fans and fittings, were donated to the primary school for a conducive learning environment by the pupils by Connect 2 Hope foundation barely a year ago
The chairman Board of Trustees of Connect 2 Hope Foundation, Engr Omonefe Uwanogho in his speech said, “The reason we are here today, is to celebrate with the teachers and pupils of Uduere, as what seemed a tall task, has been achieved by presenting these items to the children and also have a Christmas party, where dancing, refreshment, laughter and fun will be the activities that close the term.
Represented by Mr. Obaro Ubiebor Omonefe said “Uduere Primary School is very special to the foundation and we plan to carry on our support by collaborating with the community to finish up the toilet for the pupils.
“Connect 2 Hope foundation has been involved directly with the sponsorship of a number of pupils of the school, with one of the children now in secondary school as part of our education bursary initiative.
“We have recently procured a brand-new power generator set, ceiling fans for the classes and electric fittings for the school as means to create a better and comfortable learning environment for the children.
“We are not done with the school as we are looking forward in collaboration with the community to finish up the toilet for the pupils of the school because Uduere Primary School is very special to the foundation.
“Once this is complete, we will be looking into setting up a fully equipped computer lab for the school so each primary student of Uduere will be computer literate on their way secondary school and we have deemed it fit to formally inaugurate the Connect 2 Hope Scholarship Scheme for the children of Uduere..
“Our belief is that every single child of this community MUST be presented with the opportunity of education and we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure this outcome is achieved”.
On her part, the head teacher of the school, Agbroko Janet said, “We thank God for the benevolent and good heart of Engr. Efe Uwanogho who has taken upon himself towards community development in providing amenities for our learners and teachers.
“He has now provided us with a water storage tank and stand, a generator and ceiling fan to ensure proper teaching and learning for our learners and staff alike and today we are gathered to witness another benevolence of this same man, for the presentation of learning materials for our learners, you are a blessing to humanity and we want to say thank you”.
Present at the event are, Chief Inspector of Education, CIE Ughelli North, Mr. John Odjugo, Ughelli Defendant Union president general and Secretary to LEA Ughelli North, Chief Pius Omubaye, Uduere community executives led by its president general, Mr Aseoghene Idisi, Principal of Uduere secondary school and others.
