Bayelsa Vigilante, Volunteer Officials Raid Black Spots, Arrest Over 10 Suspected Cultists


Over ten persons suspected to be cultists have been arrested by the officials of the Bayelsa State Vigilante, Volunteer Service in a mass raid on black spots in some parts of Yenagoa, the State capital.

Others arrested are alleged to be involved in cultism, drugs abuse and other related offences.

According to an online media Bayelsa Insider, The operation is connected with the rising cases of bloody cult rivalry which has led to some death of innocent individuals in the state.

The identified black spot were raided for habouring criminals and cultist within the state capital, Yenagoa metropolis.

The operation, which lasted for hours, witnessed a huge successes as several suspects were arested.

The combined team raided the different areas within the Okutukutu and Tombia axis of the state, and over 11 suspects were apprehended.

Items recovered from the suspects

At the Tombia axis, a shop was raided and over 10 persons made up of 7 teenage girls and 3 boys were apprehended for being in possession of illicit drugs, marijuana and charms.

At the Bozi water axis of Tombia, an uncompleted building which harbor suspected criminals was raided, and a foam, a bullet, hard drugs and clothes suspected to belongs to these criminals and cultist were recovered.

The security outfit further went to some axis within the Okutukutu area where information was gathered that these hoodlums take refuge from and a huge success was achieved.

The Chairmen of the both security outfit, Hon. Doubiye Alagba and Hon. Lucky Asanakpo, described the raid as part of the outfits plan to ensure that Bayelsa is safe from criminals, drugs peddlers and cult related activities, stating that the state government has given different youth group opportunities to embrace peace and turn a new leave.

They said anyone or group of cult related group that decides not to embrace peace will be brought to book and dealt with acordingly.

They both assure residents of the State not to worry, but to be vigilant and security conscious, that the both security outfits have mapped out plans to give these criminals what they truly deserve.

The suspects arrested were further taken to the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Bayelsa State Police Command for further investigations.
