Atiku reacts as Gani Adams is installed as Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland

Nigeria’s former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, has spoken on the installation of Otunba Gani Adams, as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland.

The event took place on Saturday, at Durbar Stadium, Oyo state.

“I wish the new Aare-Ona Kakanfo, Gani Adams a successful tenure, and hope you will find it an opportunity to rally your people and Nigerians towards the greater good of unity, peace and progress of our dear country,” Atiku tweeted.

Among those present at the installation were: Former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao Akala, Senator representing Oyo Central District, Monsurat Sunmonu and legal luminary, Chief Adeniyi Akintola.

The Publicity Secretary, Afenifere Mr. Yinka Odumakin; Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan a Commissioner in Lagos State; Elesie of Esie; Olupo of Omupo; Oloro of Oro Kingdom; Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland High Chief Lekan Balogun; Balogun of Ibadanland High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin and Iyaloja of Ibadanland Chief Isiwat Ameringun and Deji of Akure, were also in attendance.

In his address, Adams, who earlier in the week went into seclusion ahead of the inauguration, thanked the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi for finding him worthy of the exalted position.
