APC Chieftain Rejects, Returns Christmas Rice Gift From Sen. Omo-Agege In Delta


A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East LGA, Chief Ufuoma Deniran has rejected and returned a bag of rice as Christmas gift from the Deputy President of the  Nigeria Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

According to an online news platform not this medium, “The bag of rice was delivered to the residence of Chief Ufuoma Deniran by the Ethiope East LGA Secretary, Blessing Etaghene, while he (Deniran) was away in Benin.

The rice was returned to the office of Barr. Ejiro Etaghene by Chief Deniran after his trip back from Edo state.

According to Chief Deniran, “My  rejection of the rice gift is as a result of the grieviances that emanated from the party congresses in the Delta State.

” You give and accept gifts from loved ones and not from those who don’t want things to be done in the right way. I have long sent this signal”. He said in a statement made available to Spy News.

Reacting to the development, Mr Chuks Erhire, Liaison Officer of the constituency office of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege said “Chief Deniran has the right to accept or reject the Xmas bag of rice gift adding that there were too many people on ground itching to receive the bag of rice as Xmas gift with joy and gratitude to the Deputy President of Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege.

“It is not compulsory that he should accept it, if he doesn’t want it he should bring it we have people who desperately need it.” He said.
