The Anambra State Police Command on Friday received a significant boost in public confidence as former Inspector-General of Police, Mike Okiro, mni, and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Chief Simon Okeke, paid a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Awka.
The delegation, which also included former Permanent Secretary of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Michael Ibeh, was received by the recently promoted Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, alongside members of the Command’s management team and other senior officers.
The visit highlighted the growing collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and key stakeholders in advancing effective policing, strengthening public trust, and enhancing security across Anambra State.
The Command described the visit as a vote of confidence in its ongoing efforts to entrench professionalism, intelligence-led policing, and community partnership in the fight against crime and the protection of lives and property.
It reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining robust engagement with traditional rulers, community leaders, civil society groups, and other critical stakeholders in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police to build a people-centred, accountable, and responsive Police Force.
According to the Command, stronger partnerships with respected public figures and security stakeholders remain essential to consolidating the gains already recorded in maintaining law and order across the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the Command would continue to pursue initiatives that promote public confidence and collective responsibility in addressing security challenges in Anambra State.
