2027: Abeke Vows To Deliver Sapele For Dafinone, Says Urhobo Needs Ranking Senator

Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Chief Bright Abeke, has vowed to mobilise massive votes for Senator Ede Dafinone in the 2027 general elections, declaring that his re-election is crucial to securing a ranking senator for the Urhobo nation and attracting more development to Delta Central Senatorial District.

Abeke, who expressed confidence that Sapele would deliver overwhelming votes for the senator, said Dafinone’s return to the Senate for a second term would strengthen his legislative influence and enhance his capacity to attract more federal projects to the district.

The council chairman spoke on Sunday during a reconciliation meeting between Dafinone and former executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the 11 wards of Sapele Local Government Area, held at the senator’s residence in Sapele, Delta State.

Abeke urged party leaders and members to bury their differences, close ranks and work collectively towards ensuring victory for Dafinone and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

He said: “Dafinone is well-accepted here, and we will ensure his victory. Everyone should reach out to their neighbours and families to support all our candidates. We cannot fight against our own; we must unite and work together to achieve victory.”

The council chairman stressed that unity and effective grassroots mobilisation were necessary to strengthen the party’s electoral fortunes, warning that internal divisions could undermine its chances in the forthcoming elections.

He assured the senator of his commitment to mobilising party members and voters across Sapele to deliver a convincing victory for the APC.

Speaking at the meeting, Dafinone urged former and serving party executives to embrace reconciliation, effective communication and sustained grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He encouraged aggrieved members to channel their complaints through his coordinators across the 11 wards, assuring them that efforts would be made to address their concerns.

“If you encounter any issues, please contact my coordinators in each ward. We are one party, and it would be a mistake to lose the election here in Sapele. Let’s ensure a strong voter turnout; we have the people’s support, and we will succeed,” he said.

Highlighting his legislative activities and constituency interventions, the senator disclosed that he had facilitated projects in 83 of the 85 wards across Delta Central Senatorial District.

He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering democratic dividends to constituents, expressing confidence that the APC’s grassroots structures and sustained engagement with stakeholders would strengthen its chances in the 2027 elections.

“I have initiated projects in 83 out of 85 wards. I am dedicated to my role as a senator, and we will win all APC seats. Other parties cannot compete; they lack the necessary structure,” Dafinone stated.

Also speaking, Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Moses Ogodo, commended the reconciliation initiative and called on former and serving party executives to work together to secure victory for the APC in the forthcoming elections.

Ogodo emphasised the need for unity and effective mobilisation, declaring that the party must secure victory by a substantial margin.

Similarly, APC Chairman in Sapele Local Government Area, Mr. Francis Okpigben, assured members that their grievances would be addressed, stressing the importance of resolving disagreements capable of creating divisions within the party.

The reconciliation meeting provided representatives from the 11 wards an opportunity to air their grievances, identify organisational challenges and suggest measures to strengthen the APC’s grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Party leaders responded to the issues raised, emphasising inclusiveness, cooperation and renewed commitment to the party’s electoral objectives.

Other prominent party leaders at the meeting included Chief Barr. Adelabu Bodjor, Chief of Staff to Senator Dafinone; Hon. Hero Asagba, APC Sapele Local Government Youth Leader; and other stakeholders from across the local government area.
