Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on youth development, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon has appealed to people of Delta State to adhered strictly by the directive of the state governor urging everyone to stay indoor for the next 14 days to avoid the further spread of the novel coronavirus which has frightened the whole world.

In a video message, Prince Sony Jifas noted that till this moment, some persons still have that mindset that the corona virus is for only rich men or white people, but said the disease does not recognise status, race or colour but can attack anyone, thereby calling on all to obey the instructions given by the government and the WHO.

While commending the efforts of the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa so far in ensuring every measure is put in place to avoid the spread of the disease from coming into the state, the Ughelli South PDP stalwart and philanthropist charged Deltans to augment the gesture of the governor by cooperating with him.

He however argued that the federal government ought to extend whatever relief given to states like Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to Delta State as most of the expatriates coming to Nigeria come through the Mediterranean Sea which links directly to Delta State. He disclosed that some of the expatriates crosses through Morocco, Italy and come straight to Delta State, this he said; also made the state vulnerable to the pandemic as though no case has been recorded, but there is need to guide against any eventuality.

Prince Sony Jifas however appealed to the Buhari led government to ensure that the little palliative of the market money under the SIP get to every average Nigerian to cushion the effects of the stay at home ultimatum. He cautioned all the people of Delta Central in particular and Deltans in general to cooperate and obey the state government directive as security agents will be on ground to enforce e the order.v
