The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing his public service career as a testament to courage, resilience and commitment to Nigeria’s development.
Dafinone, in a congratulatory message issued on Wednesday, said Shettima’s attainment of 60 years was an opportunity to celebrate his contributions to the country and honour his years of distinguished service in both the public and private sectors.
He noted that Shettima’s journey from the banking profession to public office, including his tenure as Governor of Borno State, his stint as Senator representing Borno Central and his current position as Vice-President, reflected a life devoted to service and responsibility.
According to the senator, Shettima demonstrated courage and resilience while governing Borno State amid severe security and socio-economic challenges.
“His years in public office, particularly his stewardship of Borno State during a period of profound security and socio-economic challenges, have demonstrated courage, resilience and a willingness to serve the nation in difficult times.
“These are qualities that deserve recognition as he attains this important milestone,” Dafinone said.
The Delta Central senator also commended Shettima for the wisdom and experience he had brought to the administration of President Bola Tinubu, particularly in advancing its Renewed Hope Agenda.
Dafinone expressed confidence that the Vice-President’s experience in governance, public administration and economic affairs would continue to contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening the economy, promoting national unity and achieving sustainable development.
He said, “At a time when Nigeria requires leadership that is purposeful, inclusive and anchored in the national interest, I am confident that Vice President Shettima’s experience in governance, public administration and economic affairs will continue to contribute meaningfully to our collective efforts to strengthen the economy, deepen national unity and promote sustainable development.”
Dafinone, who spoke on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central, wished the Vice-President many more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment in the service of the country.
He prayed God to continue to guide and protect Shettima, grant him strength and sound judgment in the discharge of his responsibilities, and bless him with many more years of service to Nigeria.
