The All Progress Congress, (APC) Ughelli North Local Government area Chapter, has charged the Deputy President of the Senate and Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ovie Omo-Agege to use his position to woe development to Delta State.
The party gave the charge during the weekend when it’s executives led by the chapter’s chairman, Hon. Obakpororo paid a formal congratulatory visit to the Deputy President of the Senate at his country home in Oromurho-Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Obakpororo said, “we are here today to formally congratulate you, first for emerging as the Senator representing our people, Delta Central and secondly, for your emergence as the Deputy President of the Senate. Being one of our own in APC, your victory as well as that of all APC legislators both at the state and federal level were indeed a victory for our party in Delta.
“We are also using this medium to thank Mr. President for supporting our own son to this exalted position of Deputy President of the Senate and will urge you to take the message to him that we are very happy with him. We also charge you to use your current position to bring the dividends of democracy home to our people in Delta State.”
In his response, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege thanked the party executives for their show of love and for their doggedness in working to deliver APC at all levels in the immediate past general elections, adding that all their concerns were well placed and would be taken care of.
He urged the party executive not to relent in building and expanding the party in the area by expanding their scope of influence.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a portrait art photograph of the Deputy President of the Senate to him by the APC executives.
