THE traditional ruler of the Great Ughelli Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Evang Wilson Ojakovo, Oharisi III, has charged sons, daughters and the general public to come out enmass and join hands to rededicate the kingdom to God at the forthcoming Ughelli Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving slated for Saturday.
The monarch gave this charge while addressing newsmen in his palace in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Flanked by the President of Ughelli Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, Bishop Kingsley Enakirheri and Ven Ogue Isaiah, Chairman Planning committee of the 15th edition of the event tagged: ‘Divine Visitation’, the monarch revealed that the program has brought meaningful development and rapid growth to the kingdom.
According to him, “The Ughelli Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is an annual spiritual event for the people of the Great Ughelli Kingdom where we seek the face of God for more blessings.
“Since the inception of this Prayer and Thanksgiving day, 14 years ago, God has been faithful to the people and those residing in the kingdom and come this Saturday at Oharisi Primary School, the 15th edition will hold where prayers will be offered to the Almighty God for his continued protection and blessings.
“I am calling on everybody residing in the kingdom to come out enmass to pray and dedicated the land to God on this day.” He said.
On his part, the President of the Ughelli Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, Bishop Kingsley Enakirheri said, “The vision for this program was conceived when the kingdom was in fire some years ago and when the Ovie of the Great Ughelli kingdom called on me and said that the Kingdom should be dedicated to God, I have to agree with him but I told him I want to seek the face of God.
“God approved it and Immediately reached out to all churches in the kingdom and the rest is the history we are seeing today and when we started, our Muslim brothers joined us in the prayers.
“We want peace, progress, prosperity, we want the power of God to take over the entire kingdom, we don’t want Ughelli to be a kingdom of war because war is a calamity and that is how we started and it has been on till this very moment.
“This theme for this year is ‘Divine Visitation’, we have peace in Ughelli business empires are growing and another thing is that part from Asaba, Ughelli is one of the fastest growing city in this area because there is peace everywhere.
“The resultant effect of the prayer and Thanksgiving is manifesting, we have roads in Ughelli, flyover project is ongoing and I can tell you that Ughelli is expanding in population and in businesses.
“Despite challenges, we are counting our blessings upon our losses and with the wisdom God has given to our King, no darkness can comprehend the light that has come to Ughelli and I urged all, everybody to come out and give glory to God for the hours we are going to spend.”
On the expectations, Ven. Ogue Isaiah disclosed that the people should expect great touch from God upon the land.
“The earth was created with words and same wonders will happen as we are going to pray wi
th the words of our mouth.” He assured.
