Man, 50 beheaded in Oghara by suspected cyber fraudsters

Tragedy on Tuesday struck in Oghara the home town of the Delta State former governor Chief James Onanefe Ibori in Ethiope West Local Government Area as a man simply identified as Segun, 50, a cyclist was beheaded by ritualists suspected to be cyber fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo boys’.

 

According sources, Segun had closed from the day’s job and was relaxing at the front of his house to receives fresh air due to power outrage in the area before he was killed by the suspects

 

The source said, “Segun who had boy is a popular Okada man in the town is the second person to have been killed in like manner following the stabbing to death of a young boy by same suspected cyber fraudsters.

 

Police in Oghara Division has already taken the corpse away and deposited in a morgue. He revealed.

 

Reacting to the incident, the Executive Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government council, Hon Solomon Ogheneovo Golley who was at the venue of the incident assured Oghara indigenes of putting an end to this ugly trend and the perpetuators will be fished out and brought to book soon.

 

When contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Mustafa, who confirmed the report said “It’s true, someone was killed and Police is on top of the matter.

“We are working in connection with vigilante and other community security outfits to unravel what really happened and arrest the culprits behind the killing.
