Palpable tension is high at the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission Office in Ughelli North local government area as security agents aborted an attempt to raze it down by suspected electoral thugs.
It was gathered that on the eve of the local government elections, there were sporadic shooting around DESIEC office but security agents drafted from the state command foiled and dispatched the hoodlums from setting the office on fire.
According to security source, “actually there were some persons lurking around the DESIEC office last night and today but the security agents are on ground to quell any attempt.
The source lamented that tension is currently high here because at 9.40am election materials are yet to arrive at Ughelli Desiec office …
