Just In: Army, Vigilante Rescued Four Kidnapped Victims In Delta

Nigeria Army attached to the 222 battalion in Agbarha-Otor in collaboration with the local vigilante have rescued four victim allegedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen at Agbarho, Ughelli North local Government Area of Delta state.

It was gathered that unknown gunmen had barricaded the Ughelli/Warri expressway between Ekrerhavwe-Agbarho junction and Uvwiamuge along the East/West road axis on the 12 of November, 2020 and four persons including one Deaconess Ada Gabriel Ahoriwure were kidnapped from a transport vehicle.

Though the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer could not be contacted, a senior police officer attached to the Ughelli Area Command confirmed their released on Friday 13, October, 2020.

According to the security source that spoke on anonymous condition disclosed that, “Immediately the incident occurred, the Nigeria Army and local vigilantes were contacted and after a hot chase the four persons were rescued at Ododegho bush after a gun duel.

“Some of the kidnappers which were alleged to be Fulani herdsmen escaped with bullet wounds and security agencies are looking out for them

The source had also disclosed that “On October 7, 2020, unknown number of  commuters were kidnapped around same axis and no contact has been made with victims families. This could be attributed to the absence of police patrol team along the Ughelli/Warri expressway.
