The chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Chief Bright Abeke has been kidnapped by fierce gunmen numbering nearly 20 in Sapele local government area of Delta State.
It learned that the chairman was kidnapped in a hotel along Owumi road at about 7:pm on Friday April 10.
According to sources, “The gunmen who stormed the hotel with a Range Rover SUV and other two vehicles, shot a local security guard before going for their target.
They were shooting sporadically to scare people away from hindering their operations in the area and after shooting the local security guard, simply identified as Ufuoma, they bundled the Council Chairman into their vehicle and zoomed to unknown destination.

The kidnap of Chief Bright Abeke has caused tension in the local as security agents have shutdown all exit and entrance routes in Sapele.
Chief Bright Abeke, is the Chief Security Officer of Sapele Local Government Area as the council chairman until the unfortunate incident occurred.
