FIFA 18 ratings: Cristiano Ronaldo named best player

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo retained his EA crown as the highest-rated player in FIFA 18 as EA Sports completed their unveiling of the top 100 stars in this year’s game on Monday.

The Portgual international was given a 94 overall rating by the creators – the same rating he received for last year’s game – following his 42-goal campaign that fired Madrid to a famous treble.

He is rated one better than his Barcelona rival, and outscores Messi on every stat bar dribbling and passing.

Ronaldo

Messi

There were spots in FIFA’s top 10 for Ronaldo’s team-mates Sergio Ramos and Toni Kroos as well.

The German midfielder was handed a rating of 90 and was ninth in the list while Real captain Sergio Ramos received the same rating but slots in at seventh position and is officially given the accolade of being the highest-rated defender on the game.

While Paris Saint-Germain’s new Brazilian star Neymar maintains his spot as the third best player for FIFA 18, and who is probably slightly more deserving of his 92 rating this year considering his tremendous start in France.

Hazard

Higuain

He comes in front of Barcelona’s deadly finisher Luis Suarez who is fourth as Bayern Munich duo Manuel Neuer and Robert Lewandowski are ranked fifth and sixth with overall ratings of 92 and 91 respectively.

Neuer is the best keeper on the game, his closest rival is Manchester United’s shotstopper David de Gea, who is two behind him with a rating of 90.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard is eighth with a rating of 90, and is the only representative of the Premier League rated in the top 10.

Surprisingly it is Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuan who completes FIFA’s best 10 players, he leapfrogs the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jerome Boateng and Gareth Bale from last year’s game after his 32-goal campaign.
