Ekredjebo Send SoS to DSP Agege As Aides Demand N.5m Settlement

By Omoghene Benedict,
Residents of Ekredjebo-Ughelli community, Ughelli North Local government area of Delta State have send ‘Save Our Soul’ message to the senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District over an alleged demand of N.5million by some of his legislative aides.
According to sources in community, Legislative aides of the Deputy Senate President are demanding for whooping sum of N.5million for settlement over the 500 Kva transformer that was freely donated by the senator to the community.
The source who spoke on anonymous condition said, “Before now, Ekredjebo community went to the Deputy Senate President at his country home during his first tenure and appealed to him to give them a transformer and in that meeting, he agreed without any cost attached.
“To our utmost surprise, after the supply of the transformer, some legislative aides of the Deputy Senate President demanded for N.5million settlement and they were given the said amount.”
Every compound was made to pay N4,000 in Ekredjebo community so as to raise the money for the settlement.
It was gathered that the transformer that was supplied to Arumala street, some aide said it should be removed because the woman attracted it to the area has defected from the party to another party.
But the intervention of the Chief of Staff to the DSP, it would have been moved to a nearby community.
At Up-Agbarho street and Daniel Mukoro Ext. in Ughelli some aides of the Senator are subjecting people in those areas part with money without the consent of the Deputy Senate President because of the supplies of 500 Kva transformers to the area.
A lady who gave her name as Janet also alleged that during the empowerment of market women with N20,000 by the senator, some of his aides were collecting the kick back of N10,000.
“My name was removed from the lists because I refuse to part with the said amount.” Janet alleged.
We are appealing to the Deputy Senate President, Sen Ovie Omo-Agege to use his good office to fish out those aides and caution them before they destroy his name for their selfish interest.
“Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is a good person and we would not want a situation where his aides rubbish his good name, they are being laid so they should not tarnish his image because of greed for money.”
One of the legislative aides to the Deputy Senate President when contacted said, “We are hearing such rumour and we are investigating it, I will contact you after our findings.”
