Develop Isoko With Your Position, IDU To Politicians

The President General of Isoko Development Union (IDU), High Chief Iduh Amadhe has called on Isoko sons and daughters recruited to be part of governance by the State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi okowa and those elected into various offices in both Federal and State legislative chambers to use their offices to develop Isoko nation.

High Chief Iduh Amadhe made this call over the weekend during the 2019 IDU annual mid year conference and reception of all Isoko elected and appointed political office holders, positing that, their appointment attest to the capability of the Isoko man to function qualitatively in high places.

He advised the appointees and elected officers that, “Your election or appointment into any office is not an opportunity for you to see the Isoko nation and her constituents as a conquered territory/people in which you must go with all the booties at the expense of the conquered”.

” You must be seen to be the engine of the Isoko strategic renewal initiative. Your capacity to be engaged in community and citizenship behavior should be aroused to make value added contributions to the development of Isoko nation.”

High Chief Iduh also charged the elected and political appointees to provide the needed support for our amiable Governor to steer the ship of the State and providing development in all ramifications to our people.

He commended the State Governor for reposing such magnitude of confidence on the Isoko man which he has without hesitation mentioned as his closest ally.

While reeling out the challenges bedeviling Isoko nation, the IDU President General, High Chief Iduh Amadhe, condemned the selfish interest of some clan PGs and other personalities in Isoko nation, urging them, to change their attitude of personal interest instead of general interest.

He also enumerated some of the need of the IDU National Secretariat to include; “IDU 500KVA Transformer to be completed by Hon Leo Ogor, Solar street light which the contractor has not mobilise to site, IDU water fall and the decoration of the IDU roundabout, and completion of other outstanding infrastructure in the complex e.g swimming pool, fencing, water fall e.t.c.”

High Chief Iduh however commended some illustrious sons and daughter of Isoko nation who has contributed immensely to the development and growth of Isoko nation, just as Pastor Nelson Onwo was presented with the Isoko Merit Award an award of recognition of his immense contribution to overall progress of Isoko nation in NDDC.

In a brief response on behalf of the political appointees, the MD/CEO of DESOPADEC, Chief Askia Ogieh commended the leadership of Isoko Development Union led by High Chief Iduh Amadhe, promising to ensure that they use their offices to attract development to Isoko land and also work with the State Governor to move the state forward to an enviable height.
