Abducted Nurse Released After 16 Days In Abductors’ Den

Sixteen days she was held hostage in her kidnappers’ den,  Mrs. Kate Okogu has been released to reunite with her family.
Mrs. Okogu, a nurse, was abducted at her residence in Amekpa, Ughelli North  Local Government Area of Delta State at about 8:pm on October 20, 2020 while she was returning from work.
It was gathered that, her car, a white Toyota Sienna and mobile phone were recovered at Otokutu-Ughelli/Agbarha-Otor road as her suspected kidnappers went away with the vehicle keys.
Few days after her kidnap, the family was contacted for a ransom of N30million.
A family source who spoke on anonymous condition disclosed that the victim was said to have been released on Thursday November 5, 2020 at Enwhe in Isoko South local government area of the state but could not confirm if a ransom was paid.
Efforts to contact the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya for confirmation of the her release was not successful as at the time of this report.
