Anambra Police Raid Criminal Hideouts, Launch Sustained Bush Offensive

The Anambra State Police Command has intensified security operations across identified flashpoints and suspected criminal hideouts in the state as joint security operatives launch sustained bush-combing and clearance exercises to flush out criminal elements.

The operations, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo, involve personnel of other security agencies and Aguanachemba operatives.

The exercise is part of the command’s intelligence-driven strategy to deny criminal elements safe havens, dismantle their operational bases and disrupt networks linked to kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes.

During the operations, security operatives are combing identified forest areas, bushes and other suspected hideouts in a coordinated effort to locate criminal elements and prevent them from regrouping or relocating to other areas.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, said the command would sustain the offensive through intelligence-led policing, inter-agency collaboration and continuous security operations across the state.

He described the exercise as part of a broader security strategy rather than a one-off operation, adding that the objective was to consolidate existing gains, protect lives and property, and create a safer environment for residents.

The police commissioner assured residents that the command would maintain the operational momentum until criminal activities were effectively curtailed.

He urged residents to continue their lawful activities while supporting security agencies with relevant information that could assist ongoing operations.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement issued in Awka.
