Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, on his 68th birthday, describing him as a statesman whose leadership and enduring contributions have continued to shape the political and socio-economic development of Delta State and the Niger Delta.
In a goodwill message, Omo-Agege said Ibori’s tenure as governor was marked by purposeful leadership, courageous decision-making and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of the state.
He noted that the former governor laid a solid foundation for infrastructure development, educational advancement and human capital development, while championing the interests of Delta State and the wider Niger Delta region.
According to the former Deputy Senate President, Ibori’s influence has remained significant beyond his years in office, as he continues to provide guidance and mentorship to political leaders across party lines.
Omo-Agege described the former governor as a father figure whose commitment to peace, unity and the progress of the people has earned him enduring respect within and outside Delta State.
“Today, we celebrate not just another year in his life, but a legacy of courage, service and commitment to the people of Delta State and the Niger Delta region,” he said.
He prayed for God’s continued grace upon the elder statesman, wishing him long life, good health and renewed strength to continue offering leadership and wise counsel in the service of the nation.
The former Deputy Senate President also extended his best wishes to Ibori on behalf of his family, political associates and supporters, congratulating him on attaining another milestone in life.
