Ughelli, Nigeria – This call is to expresses deep concerns over the forceful imposition of expelled President General, intimidation and increasing security tension in Uwheru, a community in Ughelli North Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State.
The latest conspiracy against the Youth President and his executive is unacceptable and could escalate into full community crisis if the council boss is not call to order over his nefarious activities in Uwheru Kingdom.
The actions and wicked activities carried out by the former President General, Chief Macpherson Igbedi that led to his expulsion, beside embezzlement of public funds has left several people dead, forcing them to flee their farmlands, disrupting livelihoods, education, and social cohesion.
The attack, which began about 30 years ago, saw the involvement of armed herdsmen which led to repeated waves of violence, killings, and destruction of farmlands, raping of our women and leaving the community in dire need of urgent intervention.
Specifically, the following points should be noted:
✓ The Youth body was duely established by the people of Uwheru, Uwheru Development Union (UDU) and traditional council.
And they have helped to minimize crime in the kingdom; when the prime minister of Ehere, Mr. Edewor Magic (the Akaregbaya) was kidnapped by Fulani bandits sometime in February, it was the Youth President and his executive with the President General (UDU), Mr. Wilson Umukoro Agama and his executive that mobilized the kingdom together with the security that led to his rescue, though he lost his left arm before he was rescued.
✓ The Youth President and his executive together with the President General of UDU and his executive have been in constant touch with the Nigeria security agents to remove crime and illicit drug taking from Uwheru Kingdom which the security agents can attest to.
✓ There’ is no time either the Youth President or the President General of Uwheru Kingdom have collected illegal levy (Deve) from anyone or taken money from anyone over the UDU primary and secondary school fields of the government.
However, each time there is a party or ceremony in the aforementioned primary and secondary school fields, there are left over of debris that are not remove/clean from the fields after the event.
The cleaning of these fields of debris and grasses have always been the responsibility of the pupils and the youths of the kingdom.
Moreso, we have heard that from the inception of the administration of the Executive Chairman of Ughelli North local government area, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, he has been collecting money from people celebrate parties in the fields (one hundred and twenty thousand naira) per event without cleaning, maintenance and nothing to show for.
Most annoyingly, from the huge budget of over four billion naira (N4billion) since he assumed office as the executive Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, no singular project either in form of structure, skill acquisition, maintenance/renovation has been given or executed in Uwheru Kingdom being an oil community which contributed to the Nigeria economic wellbeing.
Furthermore, the youth body and current UDU executives headed by Comr. Mudiaga Otuogbe and Mr. Wilson Umukoro Agama respectively, have never being involved in any crime issues rather they have maintained peace and order in the kingdom, and they have been in harmonious and mutual co-existence between these ruling bodies and traditional council.
✓ The wrestling festival of the Uwheru Kingdom that use to come and end with violence, destruction of properties, breakdown of law and orders in every April of the year was organized and supervised by the present ruling bodies in conjunction with the traditional council, this year 2026 was adjudged as the most peaceful over the past twenty (20) years.
✓ There is litigation between the present Uwheru development union (UDU) led by Mr. Wilson Umukoro Agama and the former President General, Chief Macpherson Igbedi which emanated as a result of financial impropriety/embezzlement of community funds, administration high hardness, sales of Uwheru-Oguname land to Fulani herdsman for ninety nine (99) years without the knowledge and consent of the Uwheru people, the king and council of Chiefs.
Also, it is known by the Delta State government and all security agents that Fulani herdsman/bandits have maimed, raped our women, close academic activities, markets and kill unnumbered sons and daughters of Uwheru Kingdom for the past thirty (30) years and continuing.
Neither the executive Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Chief Jaro Egbo nor the former President General, Chief Macpherson Igbedi have deemed it wise to either stop the menace by involving the security agents to stop the nefarious activities perpetrated by the Fulani herdsman/bandits rather Chief Macpherson Igbedi and cohort in Uwheru Kingdom and government (Ughelli North council boss) have made it a habitual business by collecting money from Fulani herdsman/bandits every year at the detriment of the innocent lives of the Uwheru people.
These atrocities of the former President General, seen by the Uwheru people led to his unanimous removal/expulsion as President General of Uwheru Kingdom.
✓ We also know as a fact that the Ughelli North LGA Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo is vehemently try to impose the former President General, Chief Macpherson Igbedi who have been rejected by the Uwheru people on Uwheru Kingdom is based on pecuniary interest, the promise of ten billion naira (N10 billion) to be given to him after the sales of the Uwheru-Oguname land to Fulani bandits for ninety nine (99) years.
Also, his eyes on the Petroleum Industrial Act (PIA) allocated to Uwheru Kingdom, an oil rich community, not on any disguise of political consideration.
✓ To set the record straight, prior to 2023 general elections, Mr Wilson Umukoro Agama and Comr. Mudiaga Otuogbe, the present President General and Youth President respectively fought with their lives to ensure our amiable governor, HIs Excellency, Rt. (Hon.) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori to emerge as the executive governor of Delta State when Chief Macpherson Igbedi and his political leader assiduously worked against his emergence as the governor of the state.
To this effect, no one love the governor more than these two present leaders of Uwheru Kingdom. The facts are there to verify.
✓ The Ughelli North security meeting summoned by the Ughelli North Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo was meant to intimidate the current leadership of the Uwheru Kingdom and cause crisis because of his purported security meeting, there had been a court process served on him and all security agents to enforce the fundamental human rights of the current Uwheru Kingdom leaders knowing fully well that Jaro Egbo being an agent of discord and chaos was trying to instigate the security agents against the people of Uwheru Kingdom which has been his trademark since he assumed the position as the Ughelli North Chairman.
✓ We are using this medium to call on the executive Governor of Delta State and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to call him (Jaro Egbo) to order to deceit from causing trouble in Uwheru Kingdom as he is not the first executive Chairman that ruled Ughelli North Local Government Area.
✓ The Ughelli North LGA Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo has no legal right to proscribe the legitimate youth body of Uwheru Kingdom and Mr. Mudiaga Otuogbe remains the Youth President of Uwheru Kingdom.
Any allegations against him and the youth body is null and void. The Uwheru youth council is not a terrorist organization.
