The Combine team of ‘Operation Delta Sweep’ based in Ughelli North, in the spirit of yuletide hosted and treated members of the public to a lavish end of year get together in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The team at the event, presented food and other gifted items in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Speaking at the event, the joint team Commanding Officer said, “Even while we are here to sweep away the criminals within Ughelli and its environs, we are here also to show love to law abiding citizens.
“Security agent are not enemy of the people as they risked their lives in ensuring that the society is free from criminals and crime and we need the cooperation of everyone to succeed.”
The event featured Dancing, Eating, Best dressed, Gym and other competitions as guests were treated with laughter.
On his part, The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on security, Hon Emmanuel Agi commended the team for returning peace to Ughelli North and its environs.
“I want to thank the almighty God for giving Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the idea of creating this unit of Operation Delta Sweep in Delta State and since their existence, there is absolute peace in thr State.
“Before now the state was having challenges on security but since creation of this team that comprises all the security apparatus, the state has witnessed peace.
“I want to commend Operation Delta Sweep for bringing peace to Ughelli and its environs, their base is here in Ughelli North and that has sent signal to criminals.
“Unlike before now, one cannot go out because of insecurity but now everyone is happy to have this combine team of security operatives around us and they should not relent in flushing and sweeping away criminals.” Agi appealed.
Highlights of the event was the presentation of food to guests and road users and cash gift to the winners of the competition.
