A yet to be unidentified man has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 12- year old female victim in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The suspect identified by his and grandfather’s name as Festus Ighofimoni was arrested at Ighagbomi street and bundled into an unmarked Toyota Camry by persons suspected to be security agents drafted from the Ughelli Area Command.
According to sources, “We noticed that the suspect have been sleeping with the underage girl whenever her elder sister is not around untill nemesis caught up with him on Tuesday.
On the day he was caught, some who walked into the abode of the girl, saw the man doing the thing and he was arrested after an alarm was raised.
Whenever the elder sister of the girl is not around, the man will come for visitation and being that the family knew him, they thought it was an ordinary visit until he was caught red handed.
“The mob wanted to stripped him naked but through intervention he was made to bath mould water fetched from the gutter before he was handed over to the police.”
A source from the Ughelli Area Command who confirmed the incident disclosed that the case has been transferred to Asaba for further investigations and possibly for arraignment.
