TOMPOLO NOT EFCC’S PROBLEM

By Zik Gbemre

Under Ola Olukoyede, EFCC has the most petty boss that delights in making big issue of inconsequential matters to attract cheap publicity for self glorification than focusing on the core duty of fighting corruption.

For one week, the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) saturated the media with the drama of its nuisance arrest of the Very Dark Man, VDM based on trumped up charges.

Today, they’re being overzealous about harassing High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo, a.k.a Tompolo.

Tompolo is not EFCC problem. EFCC should focus on politicians looting our resources to their private bank vaults. Is Tompolo the problem of EFCC? How many elected/appointed politicians have been jailed for proper prosecution by EFCC in court.

Was EFCC set up to pursue civilians who are doing their private businesses. Few weeks ago it was the very dark man,Martin Otse and today it is Tompolo abusing Naira. EFCC and its officers should put their focus on enemies of Nigeria who are politicians that have looted the country dry.

The insecurity and poverty are caused by the politicians in power since 1999. I don’t think EFCC was set up to oppress the people outside government. Leave Tompolo and DVM alone and focus on the real financial crimes of looting.

EFCC should stop harassing people. EFCC has turned to rents and debt collectors. They delve into rental matters between landlords and tenants it was seen in a case recently precisely 2024 where a landlady was harassed by EFCC in Warri and arrested and taken to their Benin office.

They now take over court matters and police matters. They are always inviting people fraudulently by abusing power. It is time EFCC should be overhauled and possible merged with the Nigerian police. EFCC has become a tool to be witch-hunting people. They act on all kinds of frivolous petitions without looking at merit of them.

You can see politicians who never earn any dime in a trade or legitimate businesses or work displaying wealth that are looted from collective wealth but EFCC will never go against these politicians in power and those enjoying their loots but prefer to go after private individuals who never been in government.

EFCC has lost original focus of setting it up. Okowa who is alleged to have stole 1.3 trillion naira of Delta’s treasury is enjoying his loot with his family while they are harassing innocent people. Why are they not after Okowa who supposedly joined APC to escape being prosecuted by EFCC in court?

Has EFCC and its men not seen that politicians who don’t want to be arrested for looting now join the ruling APC? How many of them have they arrested? EFCC Chairman and its men should tell where the sudden wealth of Nigerian politicians come from?

The EFCC Chairman and his team know all these politicians who stole but they they don’t go after them. They prefer to be involved in rent matters between landlords and tenants. The EFCC men in Benin are now used by money lenders to collect debts. These are the people EFCC and its men go after instead of going after politicians who are the real problems.

Those politicians who didn’t own a bicycles of their own now own mansions and fleet of choice cars and EFCC is not bothered but they prefer to pursue innocent Nigerians. All these selective arrest by EFCC must stop. EFCC Chairman and its men will never see anything wrong if the politicians and their fronts spray naira but turn a blind eye.

EFCC should leave Tompolo alone and stop diversionary tactics. Tompolo has never been appointed in any government position being at the local, state and federal levels.

Tompolo is not the problem of EFCC and I will continue tp drum this. Tinubu should call to order Olukoyede,EFCC Chairman. Olukoyede and EFCC should stop chasing shadows and focus on the real criminals setting our country backwards.

Tompolo should not be the headache of EFCC. Tompolo has not asked me to speak for him but I speak truth to power no matter who and what is involved.
