Congratulations, Bayo Ojulari, Babs Omotowa and Roland Ewubare on new roles in the oil & gas sector.
Roland is no strange name as he was Group Chief Operating Officer Upstream NNPC before resigning at a point.
Bayo and Babs were Shell groomed technocrats who built outstanding careers in Shell.
Omotowa’s new role in the industry as non executive Director of the NNPC LTD Board is a plus with his vast experience in the Royal Dutch Shell in the Hague and in Nigeria.
I thank President Tinubu for giving this new role to Ojulari to head NNPCL from IOC and private sector background where his vast experience will count for good of NNPCL.
To the new Group Chief Executive Officer NNPCL, you have alot to do on Upstream and Downstream.
It is time to stop politicisation of the NNPC. NNPC and its subsidiaries like NEPL should hands off operations of Assets to the companies who acquired Shell interests.
I don’t know what NEPL is doing in OML 34? OML 34 covers Shell divested Assets where strategic Utorogu Gas Plant is located. It was fully run by Shell as Operator before the divestment.
Surprisingly NEPL without capacity formed Asset Management Team (AMT) with ND Western. NEPL should hands off operations of OML 34 to ND Western who bought Shell interest to operate fully as Seplat operates its assets that were divested by Shell.
Whereas Seplat Energy is running the day-to-day operations of OMLs 4, 38 and 41 assets on behalf of the JV partners without NEPL interference as it was when Shell was Operator before selling its stakes to Seplat.
Heritage Energy Operational Services Ltd (HEOSL) Operates OML 30 asset without NEPL imposing self.
Ojulari, in your new role as Group Chief Executive Officer NNPC LTD, you must right the wrong and mess of Andrew Yakubu created and sustained by Maikanti Baru and Mele Kyari which Ibe Kachwuku attempted to correct before he was removed by Buhari.
We are stakeholders and I know the pains of of our people in the South South region that the deliberate mixed up of NNPC and its subsidiaries like NEPL in teaming up with private oil companies to manage OML 34 is causing the locals alot of headaches and pains. NEPL should be removed outrightly from the day-to-day operations activities of the OML 34 Asset.
NNPC LTD should remain as regulators and leave operations of Assets to IOCs and Private oil companies who are experts to manage for good of all Nigerians.
I repeat that NEPL should be directed to stay off the operations and running of OML 34 completely.
NEPL has no value added to the operations of OML 34 which will be better being operated and run by ND Western Ltd that bought Shell interests of the Asset. NEPL interference in operations of OML 34 Asset is misnomer.
All these problems of shutting down operations of Asset by host communities are Caused by NEPL ‘s involvement of the operations and management of the OML 34 asset. Other OMLs don’t have such problems
Bayo Ojulari, you must not shy away from these challenges that are too glaring to ignore if you must succeed and not just to bear tittle GCEO NNPC LTD.
Once again congratulations for your new role as Group Chief Executive Officer NNPC LTD.
