Google honors Stephen Keshi with doodle

Search giant, Google today celebrates Nigerian football icon Stephen Keshi, on the occasion of his 56th birthday. The technology firm honoured the former Super Eagles Captain on its doodle. Doodle is a special logo on Google’s homepage that is temporarily alternated and intended to celebrate holidays, events, achievements and people. Kenedy joins Newcastle on loan from Chelsea

Newcastle have signed young Brazilian Kenedy from Chelsea on loan, the club have confirmed. Oxfam says rich people are getting riche

A report by Oxfam says 82 per cent of the wealth generated last year went to the richest one per cent of the global population. It added that the 3.7 billion people who make up the poorest half of the world saw no increase in their wealth during the period. Africa’s great musician Hugh Masekela dies

Hugh Masekela, South Africa’s trumpeter, jazz artist and music legend, is dead. He died of prolonged prostrate cancer. He was aged 78. His family first made his death known in a statement. “After a protracted and courageous battle with prostate cancer, he passed peacefully in Johannesburg,” Masekela’s family said in a statement.
