Biafra: Abaribe speaks on Nnamdi Kanu’s whereabouts

The senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has denied the claim by the Federal Government that the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is in his custody. The Federal Government had earlier replied to Abaribe’s application seeking to withdraw as one of the sureties for Kanu, describing the application as too late. Some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday described the death of the party ‘s Caretaker Chairman in Lagos State, Chief Babatunde Solanke, as shocking. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Solanke died on Saturday at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital after slumping in a hotel in Ikeja. 3.4m suffer malnutrition in North-East

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA) says about 3.4 million people need nutrition assistance due to food crisis caused by Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East. This is contained in the UN-OCHA Humanitarian Situation Report for the month of September. Ebonyi tackles malaria in pregnant women

Ebonyi state has launched a programme designed to tackle malaria menace in pregnant women. The programme, Transforming Intermittent Preventive Treatment for Optimal Pregnancy (TIPTOP), was launched in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, selected for the pilot project.
