Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has reaffirmed his resolve to mobilize support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the party will pursue a united and strategic effort to secure victory across all levels.
Addressing a large gathering in Oromurhu-Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Omo-Agege disclosed that he has formally accepted the call by his constituents and supporters to contest once again for the Delta Central Senatorial seat.
“Yesterday, I ascended, yielded to the sustained appeals and yearnings of our people by offering myself once again as a candidate for the 2027 senatorial election to represent Delta Central. stated.
He held that his appearance at the event was not to make a fresh declaration, just has his decision and declaration had already been publicly announced earlier.
He said, “I did not come here today to make any new declaration, that declaration was made yesterday and I only deemed it necessary to return home and personally express my appreciation to you all for your support.

“I was profoundly surprised by the massive show of solidarity. Our brothers and sisters from Delta Central, as well as those from Delta North and Delta South, came out in their numbers to receive me at the airport and accompanied me to my ancestral home. I am truly grateful.” he said.
Reflecting on his previous electoral victories, he acknowledged the unwavering support of the people attributed to his success in both the 2015 and 2019 elections.
“In 2015, when I first presented myself for service, you stood firmly behind me and ensured my victory. In 2019, you once again demonstrated your confidence in me, leading to my re-election. I remain indebted to you for your prayers and steadfast support.
Highlighting his achievements while in office, Senator Omo-Agege highlighted his key infrastructural and educational projects he facilitated, emphasizing their tangible impact.
“The Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, stands today as a testament to our commitment. It is not merely an institution in name; it is fully established and functional, completed within a remarkably short period of two and a half years,” he noted.
He further referenced the establishment of the Nigerian Defence Space School in Urhoboland, describing it as a unique institution in southern Nigeria.
“Similarly, the Nigerian Defence Space School is not just a concept on paper; it is fully built, operational, and contributing meaningfully to national development,” he added.
Extending his developmental efforts beyond Delta Central, he spoke about the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale.
“Recognizing the long-standing demands of our brothers and sisters in Delta North, I leveraged my position to ensure the establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale. Today, it is fully operational and has already conducted its first matriculation ceremony,” he said.
Omo-Agege also highlighted the significance of the Oil and Gas Industrial Park project, describing it as a transformative initiative for the region.
“The Oil and Gas Industrial Park is, in fact, a project of greater magnitude than the combined investments in the three tertiary institutions. It will deliver 24-hour electricity to communities including Orogun, Abraka, Eku, and beyond, thereby driving economic growth,” he explained.
He stressed that his tenure was marked by impactful representation, ensuring that no part of Delta Central was left out.
“There is no community in Delta Central that has not felt the positive impact of our representation,” he asserted.
Addressing concerns from constituents, he emphasized the importance of active and vocal representation in the Senate.
“Our people have made it clear that it is not enough to merely occupy a seat; they desire a strong and audible voice in the Senate. That was the representation I provided in the 8th and 9th Senate, and by the grace of God, that voice will resonate again in the 11th Senate,” he declared.
On party matters, Omo-Agege reiterated his commitment to the APC, noting his role in strengthening the party in Delta State.
“We may not have founded this party, but we built and sustained it. We transformed it into a formidable political platform in Delta State,” he said.
He welcomed new entrants into the party, urging unity and inclusiveness.
“As more individuals, including former members of other parties, join the APC, we must embrace them fully. There should be no room for division or discrimination,” he advised.
Looking ahead to the elections, he underscored the party’s determination to achieve comprehensive electoral success.
“We will work collectively and relentlessly to ensure the return of all APC candidates—from the presidency to the governorship, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the State Houses of Assembly,” he affirmed.
He referenced local campaign strategies, noting, “In Ughelli North, our objective remains ‘six over six,’ while in other local governments, we aim for ‘five over five.’ This reflects our commitment to total victory.”
Omo-Agege also pledged continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his economic reforms.
“The economic policies introduced by President Tinubu have significantly increased resources available to states. While the reforms may be challenging, they are necessary and will ultimately yield positive outcomes for our people,” he said.
He concluded by urging party members to prepare for the upcoming primaries with seriousness and commitment.
“My appeal to all of you is to return to your respective wards, organize yourselves, and be ready to participate actively in the primaries. The choice of who represents you in 2027 rests in your hands.” He stated.
