Two robbery suspects arrested with gun in Ughelli

Two armed robbery suspects have been arrested with gun and handed over the police at ‘A’  Division for alleged robberyat  Awhinawhi in Ughelli North local government area of Delta.
One the suspects simply identified as Junior also known as ‘Olokpa’ was arrested at crime with a cut to size gun, while Kingsley, (surname withheld) was arrested at different location after they had attacked their victim at Awhinawhi. It was gathered by Urhobo Voice.
A source at the area who spoke in anonymous condition alleged that, the suspects attacked their victim demanding for his phones and other valuables.
The victim raised alarm which drew the attention of residents in the area, Junior, was arrested with gun and handed over to security agents while Kingsley escaped from the scene.
According to the source, Junior who has served three jail terms was recently released from prison before re-engaging himself with another crime and they are both cooling down at the Ughelli ‘A’ division.
Meanwhile, in a related development, two suspected cultists were also arrested at Orubase street, off Esegine, Ughelli with gun were handed over to the police for further investigation.
A source from  the area disclosed that, the suspects cultists whose name could not be ascertained as at the time of this report, trailed their victim to Orubase street where he was allegedly axed with battle axe and machetes before they were arrested.
Efforts to speak with the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP,  Andrew Aniamaka was not successful as his phone rang without answering and calls were not returned by him as at the time of filing this report.
But senior police officer attached to the Ughelli Area Command who confirmed the arrest said, “We are investigating the matter.
