The Isoko Development Union (IDU), Asaba Branch, has called for calm and restraint following the death of an Isoko son, Mr. Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, a Deputy Director in the Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education.
Adeda reportedly died following an altercation with a superior at the Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat, Asaba, on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
In a statement signed by its President, Elisha Ikolomi, the IDU said it was aware of allegations that Adeda was beaten during the altercation, but stressed that the circumstances surrounding his death had yet to be independently established.
The union urged Isoko sons and daughters in Asaba and environs to remain calm, observant and confident, assuring that it would pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.
It commended the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Delta State Chapter, under Comrade Goodluck Ofobruku; the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu; and the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, for their efforts in restoring calm following the incident.
