Nigeria @ 66: Sacrifices Will Yield Stronger Nation, Says Dafinone

Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has urged Nigerians to remain resilient and united, expressing optimism that the sacrifices being made amid the current economic reforms would ultimately produce a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

Dafinone, in an Independence Day message marking Nigeria’s 66th anniversary on Thursday, felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; the people of Delta Central and Nigerians across the country.

He said the anniversary provided an opportunity for citizens to reflect on their shared responsibility to preserve the unity of the country and work towards building a peaceful and prosperous nation.

The senator acknowledged the economic hardship being experienced by many Nigerians, noting that the ongoing reforms required sacrifices from citizens.

“These are difficult times, but the emerging results of the Tinubu administration’s reforms should strengthen our resolve to persevere as the government works to restore stability, expand opportunities and improve the lives of our people,” he said.

Dafinone urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue to support efforts aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy, while praying for the success of the Tinubu administration.

Quoting the Bible, he said, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning,” urging citizens not to lose faith despite the present challenges.

He also appealed to the people of Delta Central and Delta State to continue to support and pray for Governor Oborevwori, stressing that cooperation between the Federal Government and the state was critical to promoting development, attracting investment and creating opportunities for the people.

Dafinone said Nigerians could build a country where peace prevails and citizens have the opportunity to pursue their aspirations.

“If we remain united and persevere through this difficult season, a brighter chapter lies ahead,” he said.

He wished Nigerians a happy 66th Independence anniversary and prayed for continued peace and prosperity in Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria.
