NBA Polls: Dafinone Hails Okoro, Okpomor’s Election, Says Victory Reflects Urhobo Excellence

Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has congratulated two prominent Urhobo legal practitioners, Chief Oghenero Okoro and Mrs. Gladys Aghogho Okpomor, on their election into key national offices of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

In a congratulatory message, Dafinone described Okoro’s emergence as First Vice President of the NBA and Okpomor’s election as Assistant General Secretary as a proud achievement for the Urhobo Nation, Delta State and Nigeria, saying their victories were well deserved.

He said the elections reflected the duo’s years of distinguished legal practice, exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to justice, professionalism and the rule of law.

According to the senator, Okoro’s successful tenure as former Chairman of the NBA Warri Branch and Okpomor’s impactful service as former Assistant General Secretary of the Young Lawyers Forum, Minna Branch, were clear testimonies of their competence, integrity and dedication to the legal profession.

Dafinone noted that their emergence did not come as a surprise, describing it as a reward for years of diligence and hard work that exemplify the “Urhobo Can-Do Spirit.”

He urged the newly elected NBA officials to deploy their wealth of experience and sound judgment in strengthening the association, promoting judicial independence and advancing reforms that would enhance public confidence in Nigeria’s justice system.

“The legal profession remains the guardian of justice, constitutional democracy and the rule of law. I am confident that you will uphold the highest ethical standards and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth of the Bar,” he stated.

The lawmaker further said the achievements of Okoro and Okpomor should serve as inspiration to young lawyers and professionals across Delta Central and the country, stressing that integrity, competence, resilience and selfless service remain the foundation of enduring leadership.

He expressed confidence that their tenure would leave a lasting legacy of excellence and purposeful service.

Dafinone wished the duo wisdom, good health and divine guidance as they assume their new responsibilities, expressing optimism that their service would bring greater honour to the legal profession, pride to the Urhobo Nation and value to Nigeria.
