… Urge the Public to disregard misleading publications

Olomoro community on Thursday through the Council of Chiefs and other organs of leadership (Iletu and Edio in council) of the community passed a vote of confidence on the President General of Olomoro Development Union (ODU) Chief Anthony Ukpagba and his executive and urged the public to disregard misleading publications.
The motion of vote of confidence was moved by the Clan Otota of the Olomoro Kingdom, Chief Lawrence Eduje during a meeting at the palace of the Odio-ologbo of Olomoro Kingdom, HRM Abraham Atatobe, Agboro the 1st.
Chief Eduje urged members of the public to disregard the statement made by some indigenes of the community who went to the media to make statement that is culpable of disrupting the peace of Olomoro community under the leadership of Chief Anthony Ukpagba.
According to him, any person not satisfied with the decision and choice of the community leaders should make peace and consult the Edio and Iletu in council and the traditional rulers on the way forward.
He asserted that, “We are law abiding citizens of this country, we will follow the law and respect the law, he therefore warned that, nobody should mislead the general public to cause unrest in Olomoro community”.
Reacting, the President General of Olomoro Development Union, Chief Anthony Ukpagba stated that, he is highly elated over the vote of confidence passed on him and his executive, describing the action of some miscreants in the community appalling for going to the media to defame the name of the community and mislead the public.
He therefore urged the general public to disregard the misleading publications made by those who don’t want peace in the community, affirming that he remains the President General of Olomoro Development Union.
He maintained that, Emuhowho and his cohort defiled government invitation, restraint the council chairman, the Attorney General of Delta State, Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Asaba, attempted to force himself into the leadership of Olomoro community, adding that the false information and publication is not the true position of the Kingdom.
He stated that the executive of Olomoro Development Union was duly elected and has been piloting the affairs of the community peacefully in accordance with the laws of the land in consultation with the Royal Majesty, the chiefs in council and other leaders of the community.
Also speaking to Journalists, Chief Kingsley Obeidhoko affirmed that, Chief Anthony Ukpagba is the authentic President General of Olomoro Development Union known to Olomoro people, that he was duly elected in accordance to the constitution of the community.
Hon. Nero Umeh and Hon. Harrison Oheri, both councillors representing Olomoro ward 06 respectively, also affirmed that, Chief Anthony Ukpagba is the President General of Olomoro Development Union, adding that the public should disregard one Emuhowo and his cohorts misleading publications through the media to disrupt peace in the agrarian community.
The chairman of all branches of Olomoro Development Union and in diaspora, Chief Davis Emamuzo also affirmed that, Olomoro community has spoken, the public should not listen to masters of negative propaganda, emphasizing that they are spreading campaign of calumny, stating that Chief Anthony Ukpagba was duly elected and is recognized by government.
Meanwhile, HRM Abraham Atatobe Agboro 1, urged the people of the Kingdom to remain calm, peaceful and obey the leadership of the community led by Chief Anthony Ukpagba.
