Journalist escape death from Delta Commissioner’s aide

A journalist attached to an online newspaper, National Reformer narrowly escaped death from the hand of an aide to the Commissioner representing Isoko ethnic nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon Oviemuno Oghoore.
The aide, identified as Adaighofua Irikefe attacked the journalist who on his official assignment.
Giving details on his attacked, Comrade Jerry disclosed that he was covering a protest embarked on by the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, (JONPWD), Isoko South and North chapter to the DESOPADEC Commisioner over their alleged Christmas bonuses allegedly withheld.
He said, “I was taking photographs shot of the protesters at the gate of the Commissioner before Irikefe an aide to the commissioner came to seek my identity and immediately i introduced myself as Journalist, he slapped and grabbed my android phone smashed it on the ground.
“Despite my explanation, he turn a deaf ear, collected my android Tecno W2 phone with imei number 3527900819 21850 at Uruto Quarter, Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area , destoyed it and threatened to end my life.
“I escaped death through the people  that were beeging him not to kill me because he threatened to kill me and nothing will happen as his boss is in the system.”
“The protest which I was covering was against the release of the One million (N, 000, 000) 2016/2017 Christmas bonus for the Isoko South and North JONAPWD members which according to the JONAPWD Isoko North Chairman, Simeon Ikuta was allegedly withheld by the DESOPADEC Honourable Commissioner.”
All effort to reach, the commissioner,  Oviemuno Oghoore for comment by our reporter was not productives as calls and test mesages sent to his mobile phone were not replied as at the time of this report.
