Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Okakuro Ede Dafinone, has urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of peace, sacrifice, compassion and unity as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement issued to commemorate the festival, Dafinone described Eid al-Adha as a solemn season that reflects unwavering faith, obedience to God and selfless sacrifice, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
He called on citizens to use the occasion to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, extend support to the less privileged and promote peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic divides.
“Eid reminds us of the timeless virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice and total devotion to God. It is a sacred season for reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to the values that strengthen our families, communities and nation,” the senator stated.
Dafinone emphasised that national development could only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony, mutual respect and collective responsibility, urging Nigerians to remain united despite prevailing challenges.
The lawmaker also commended the Muslim community in Delta Central for what he described as their enduring contributions to peace, growth and development within the district.
“Your resilience, enterprise and commitment to peaceful coexistence has remain invaluable to the progress of the senatorial district and the nation at large.
“At this important moment in our national journey, I encourage all Nigerians to remain hopeful, united and steadfast. Though challenges remain, we must continue to support one another and work collectively towards building a safer, stronger and more prosperous nation,” he added.
“We reaffirmed our commitment to inclusive representation and programmes aimed at youth empowerment, family support and improved livelihoods across communities in Delta Central.”
The Senator, further prayed for divine peace, wisdom and prosperity for Nigeria, while wishing Muslim faithful a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
