Dafinone Predicts APC ‘Five-Over-Five’ Victory in Delta, Dismisses Opposition

Senator Ede Dafinone has predicted an overwhelming victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State in the 2027 general elections, declaring that opposition parties were already facing defeat.

Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said the massive turnout at the APC campaign flag-off in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, reflected the party’s growing popularity and grassroots strength.

Addressing journalists at the Oleh Township Stadium on Thursday, the senator expressed confidence that the APC would win all five categories of elections in the state, describing the party’s electoral prospects as increasingly favourable.

He attributed the anticipated victory to the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu and the developmental achievements of Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

According to him, the Federal Government’s economic policies are beginning to produce positive results, particularly in exchange rate stability, foreign reserves and the prices of food and other essential commodities.

Dafinone said Nigeria’s foreign reserves had risen to a level not witnessed in 18 years, describing the development, alongside the relative stability of the naira, as evidence of progress in the country’s economic recovery.

He acknowledged that the reforms had initially imposed difficulties on Nigerians but maintained that their long-term benefits were becoming increasingly evident.

The lawmaker also cited the large crowds at recent APC rallies in Oleh and Ozoro as evidence of the party’s growing acceptance across Delta, arguing that its record in government would put opposition parties at a disadvantage.

However, he warned APC leaders and supporters against complacency, saying the impressive attendance at rallies must translate into actual votes at the polls.

“In this coming elections, we want to win with convincing figures, overwhelming that our opponents would have no reason to go to court,” he said.

He urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sustain contact with voters across communities, wards and polling units, stressing that electoral victory could only be secured through effective participation on election day.

Dafinone commended the Delta APC leadership for adopting what he described as an issue-based campaign, urging members to concentrate on governance, policies and achievements rather than engage in personal attacks against political opponents.

He also challenged party supporters to counter criticisms by highlighting the administration’s record in infrastructure development, economic management and other areas of governance.

The senator maintained that the combination of Tinubu’s economic reforms, Oborevwori’s development programmes and the APC’s expanding grassroots structures would strengthen the party’s prospects in the 2027 elections.

He urged party faithful to remain united and focused, insisting that the enthusiasm displayed at the Oleh rally must be sustained until the votes are cast and officially counted.
