Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has described the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement as one of the foremost and most coordinated support groups with organic grassroots support mobilizing for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
The governor who spoke through the Special Adviser Political Matters, Chief Collins Cocodia in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, during the expanded stakeholders meeting organised by the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement said with groups like P-BAT, the re-election of President Tinubu is sacrosanct.
Diri, said Bayelsa State remains firmly in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the state government has so far registered over 200 support groups, describing P-BAT as the biggest and most coordinated among them.
He charged members of the group to intensify their door-to-door mobilization, likening their assignment to that of Jehovah’s Witnesses who go from house to house to preach
The Bayelsa State Governor further said the availability of funds under the present administration has enabled governors to execute projects without interruption, citing ongoing projects in Bayelsa, adding that local governments are also better funded than before, adding that the state government remains committed to delivering on its promises.
He lauded the National Coordinator, Pastor Reuben, and his team for their tour across the South-South states, and praised the founder of P-BAT, Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), for his role in maintaining peace and security in the Niger Delta.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, said that the Ijaw nation has collectively resolved to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
According to him, although no Ijaw son is contesting the Presidency, the Ijaw people have decided to adopt President Tinubu as their choice in the politics of Nigeria, stressing that ethnicity remains a reality in Nigerian politics that cannot be pretended away.
Ogbuku said the decision informed the establishment of the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement by Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, to demonstrate the commitment of the Ijaw nation to Tinubu’s re-election.
Ogbuku expressed optimism that with Tinubu’s re-election, more of the challenges facing the Ijaw nation would be addressed.
He commended Tompolo for floating the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement, describing it as the strongest support group for President Tinubu and one that has brought Ijaws and other ethnic nationalities together.
Also speaking, Comrade Sunday Asuku, National Coordinator P-BAT Door to Door Movement applauded the founder and grand patron of the group, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for his patriotic and visionary leadership in floating a grassroots movement for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The national coordinator highlighted what he described as bold and transformative decisions taken by the Tinubu administration, including the removal of fuel subsidy, economic reforms, and investments in infrastructure and human capital development.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration is not just a slogan but a blueprint that has yielded tangible results within three years.
He maintained that the achievements of the present administration should not be discarded but consolidated through overwhelming votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections and herefore called on all stakeholders in Bayelsa State to join hands with the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term to enable him to deliver more dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
On his part, the Zonal Coordinator of P-BAT Door to Door Movement, Chief Pastor Reuben Wilson said Bayelsa State has no reason not to support President Tinubu, citing visible development projects executed through the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, with the support of the President.
“You will agree with me that if you go down to our fishing settlements, you will see light everywhere through the NDDC. Light is everywhere and light is life, done by the NDDC supported by Mr. President. You will also agree with me that some months ago, Mr. President was here to commission various projects. So Bayelsa, we don’t have any reason not to support Mr. President,” he stated.
He explained that the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement was formed to take the message of the President’s achievements directly to communities, units and wards and charged members of the group not to lose their polling units, wards or local government areas, saying any loss would be a dent on the image of Bayelsa.
A stakeholder, Comrade Preye Agama emphasized that as an APC state there’s no reason why President Tinubu and all APC candidates should not be elected come 2027 elections.
Earlier, the Bayelsa State Coordinator of the Movement, Dr. Charles Daniel while welcoming stakeholders enjoined them to come with ideas and workable strategy towards the reelection of President Tinubu and all APC candidates.
