Auntie Mo Kids Radio, an internet radio with content targeted at children in Nigeria and other African countries has been launched. The radio which was launched on Sunday has educative and entertainment programmes for children and parents as well. Venezuela referendum: Big show of support for opposition

More than seven million voters have taken part in an opposition-organised referendum in Venezuela, according to academics monitoring the poll. The result strongly backed opposition to the socialist government’s proposed constitutional changes. Venezuela remains polarised between supporters of President Nicolas Maduro and the opposition, which wants fresh elections. A nurse was shot dead while queuing to vote in the capital, Caracas. 27 dead, 54 missing in shipwreck in Congo

At least 27 people were killed and 54 others were missing in the night of Thursday to Friday after a whaling ship wrecked on the Kasai River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. “I confirm that we have 27 dead bodies. The sinking occurred in front of Idiofa,” Xinhua quoted Jacques Mbila, the administrator of the territory, as saying. Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has directed the extension of the 2017 N-Power application by two weeks. The application portal will now close on July 27. In a statement on Sunday, Afolabi Imoukhuede, special assistant to the president on job creation, said the selection process for the second batch would be characterised by transparency.
