As Kidnappers Demands N30 Million Ramsom

Gunmen suspected to kidnappers have kidnap a male victim simply identified as Mr Alex Egedegbe in Ohorhor community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state

According to sources, the victim who was abducted last Tuesday night along Ughelli- Patani of the East/West was the youth leader of the community

The alleged kidnapped incident could not be confirmed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onowakpoyeya as at the time of this report.

President of Urhobo Progress Union youth wing, Comrade Kelly Efemena Umukoro, who spoke condemned the act alleged that last week Wednesday some unknown persons attempted to kidnap the immediate past NDDC Executive Director of Projects of Mr. Samuel Adjogbe.

“They tried same to Hon Samuel Mariere but God saved him and finally they they succeeded with the kidnap of the Youth Chairman of Ohorhor community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State at about 07.00pm on Tuesday night” he said.

Efemena alleged that the kidnapped youth chairman called with his own line to inform us that he has been kidnapped and the culprits spoke to his brother demanding for the sum N30 Million ransom.

“And we reported the incident at the Ughelli police station on Tuesday night.

I am calling on security agents and fellow Urhobo youths to stand firm as we fight against these common enemies and I also appeal for viable information that would lead to his rescue of the victims and arrest of the suspects.

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, Onome Onowakpoyeya said,”I cannot confirm if it was a kidnapped case as his (Alex Egedegbe Orukevwe’s) vehicle was only seen packed along the road and nobody witnessed the incident”.

On the alleged demand for N30 million ramsom from the family, she said the family has not brief the police on it.
