Tension As Ughelli North Council Boss Impounds NDC Chieftain’s Truckload Of Goods, Allegedly Seizes Wife And Manager’s Phones

Tension has gripped Ughelli north business community, Delta State, as goods worth millions of naira have impounded a truckload of goods belonging to a chieftain of the New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Amb. Agbah Alex Tobore, and allegedly seized the mobile phones of his wife and business manager in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Tobore, who raised the alarm over the development, alleged that the incident was the latest in a series of actions affecting his business operations.
He disclosed that his business premises had earlier been sealed over an allegation relating to the branding of his vehicle, adding that he was subsequently asked to make a payment in connection with the matter.
The businessman said the latest incident had left him traumatised and worried about the safety of his business and investments.
He also referred to the arrival of two trailers at his premises, saying he was uncertain about the circumstances surrounding the developments.
Tobore appealed to the Delta State and Federal Governments, as well as relevant security agencies, to intervene and establish the facts surrounding the reported impoundment of the truck and the alleged seizure of the mobile phones.
He specifically sought clarification over the reported seizure of Samsung mobile phone belonging to his wife, Mrs Agbah, and that of  his business manager.
The NDC chieftain urged the authorities to ensure that political differences did not lead to the harassment of individuals or interference with their lawful business activities.
Efforts to obtain the reaction of the Media Aide to the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Mr Ekete Efe, were unsuccessful.
Calls placed to his mobile telephone line were neither answered nor returned as of the time of filing this report.
The council’s position on the allegations could therefore not be ascertained.
